Jonathan Mitchell | President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Mitchell has served as Nova Compression’s (and its predecessor’s) President and Chief Executive officer since January of 2020. Prior to Nova, Mr. Mitchell founded Park Energy Services in February of 2014, from that time, he served as President and Chief Executive officer until April of 2019. From 2008 to 2014, Mr. Mitchell held various financial and development roles with Compressco Partners, LP. Mr. Mitchell graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mr. Mitchell and his son reside in Oklahoma City.

Nic Rogers | Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Rogers has served as Nova Compression’s (and its predecessor’s) Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since May of 2020. Mr. Rogers has over a decade of oil & gas experience and is responsible for accounting, corporate finance, treasury and human resources functions. Before joining Nova, Mr. Rogers held various leadership roles at oil & gas companies including Controller and Finance Director & was with KPMG Oklahoma City for approximately seven years. He is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration & Master of Accountancy. Mr. Rogers, his wife, and his daughter reside in Norman, Oklahoma.

Travis Yount | Senior Vice President – Operations

Mr. Yount has served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Nova Compression (and its predecessor’s) since 2009. He has over 28 years experience in the oil and gas industry. At the age of 18, he began his career as a field operator and quickly worked his way up through the ranks with Ouachita Energy, Hanover, and Exterran.  His greatest desire is to provide the highest level of service and satisfaction to customers, investors, and employees.   Mr. Yount has been married for 30 years.  He and his wife have two children and reside in Tyler, Texas. 

James Merrell | Vice President – Business Development

Mr. Merrell has served as Vice President – Business Development at Nova Compression since June of 2021. He has over 20 years experience in the Natural Gas Compressor Industry. He started his career at Hanover Compressor Company and work in many phases of the business from Mechanic to Sales. Mr. Merrell joined MidCon Compression in 2008 and helped build the fleet to over 1 million horsepower. After Midcon was sold in 2018, Mr. Merrell became Vice President – Business Development at Park Energy Services. Mr. Merrell earned a BBA in Finance from Texas Tech University, and resides in Oklahoma City with his wife Lia and their two children.

Darrell Bushong | Director – Business Development

Mr. Bushong has served as Nova Compression (and its predecessor’s) Director of Business Development since April of 2017.  Mr. Bushong has 27 years in the oil & gas industry and is responsible for AMS Field Services and Contract Compression business development. Before joining Nova, Mr. Bushong held various leadership roles in the oil & gas industry including Supply Chain, Sales, Parts, shop and field operations with Hanover, Valerus, and Axip Energy. Mr. Bushong has been married for 20 years.  He and his wife have four children and three grandchildren and reside in Kilgore, Texas.  

James Mode | Director – Environmental, Health, and Safety

Mr. Mode has served as Director – Environmental, Health and Safety at Nova Compression since November of 2021.  He has over 25 years experience in Environmental, Health and Safety with the last 13 years being solely in the natural gas compressor industry.   Mr. Mode started his career at METCO Environmental where he worked for various industries until joining MidCon Compression in 2009.   Following the acquisition of MidCon in 2018 by Park Energy Services, he became Director – Environmental, Health and Safety for Park.  Mr. Mode earned a degree in Pre-medical Biology from Baylor University and performed graduate studies in molecular biology at Sam Houston State University.  He currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma with his wife Stephanie with whom he has two daughters.
